Knit cafe in Reykjavík

The first knit cafe in Reykjavík was on February 1st 2007 in IÐA cafe in the city center. It was initiated by the Icelandic Handcrafts Society and The Handknitting Association of Iceland and Ístex (producer of yarn) also took part.
The knit cafes have been very popular; knitters bring their work and enjoy an evening together, exchanging ideas and getting to know others who share their enthusiasm for knitting and other handcrafs.
The knit cafes will be held on the first Thursday of each month, from 20.00 to 22.00, the next one on April 5th.
